The Tudor Royal M2840D1A3-0001 debuted in 2026 as a 40mm day-date model in the updated Royal collection, distinguished here by its stainless steel and yellow gold construction, brown dial, and integrated two-tone bracelet. Within the 40mm Royal range, this reference shifts the emphasis away from dial colour alone and toward material contrast, pairing the collection’s revised case architecture with a more overtly bi-metal presentation. Its case measures 40mm in diameter and 11.4mm in height, with polished and satin-brushed surfaces across the steel middle case and yellow gold elements. The bezel is fixed and executed in solid yellow gold, giving this version a different external character from the stainless steel 40mm references. As on the rest of the revised Royal line, the bezel profile is sharply notched and more crisply defined than before. The screw-down crown is steel capped with 0.1mm of yellow gold and carries the Tudor shield in relief. Water resistance is rated to 100 metres, and the dial is protected by a sapphire crystal. The dial is brown and fitted with applied Roman numerals, together with the day aperture at 12 o’clock and the date at 3 o’clock specific to the 40mm format. In this configuration, the warmer dial tone works directly with the yellow gold bezel and bracelet details, giving the watch a more traditional and more overtly dress-oriented reading than the monochrome steel variants. The Roman numeral layout reinforces that direction, while the familiar Royal day-date arrangement keeps it aligned with the established structure of the 40mm models. Power comes from the Tudor Manufacture Calibre MT5633, a self-winding mechanical movement with bidirectional rotor system, 26 jewels, and a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. It is regulated to -2/+4 seconds per day on the fully assembled watch and uses Tudor’s current Manufacture movement architecture, including a variable inertia balance held beneath a traversing bridge, a non-magnetic silicon hairspring, and a stop-seconds function for precise setting.
