The Tudor Royal M2840D1A0-0001 debuted in 2026 as part of the 2026 expansion of the Royal collection, a line defined by its integrated bracelet construction, notched bezel, and dress-sport positioning. This reference is the 40mm stainless steel version with black dial, pairing the largest case size in the updated range with the Royal’s day-date display and the new-generation case and bracelet refinements introduced for this update. Its stainless steel case measures 40mm across and 11.4mm in height, with polished and satin-brushed surfaces that underline the collection’s mixed formal and sporty character. For the 2026 revision, Tudor reworked the bezel with more sharply defined polished notches, giving the watch a more precise and angular appearance than earlier executions. The case remains water-resistant to 100 metres and is fitted with a screw-down crown in stainless steel, signed with the Tudor shield in relief. A sapphire crystal covers the dial, while the integrated five-link bracelet continues the uninterrupted silhouette that has long defined the Royal family. The dial is executed in black with applied stick hour markers, maintaining a clean and restrained layout within the more elaborate architecture of the case and bracelet. On this 40mm model, Tudor pairs the central hours, minutes, and seconds with a day display at 12 o’clock and a date aperture at 3 o’clock, giving the watch the most functionally complete display configuration within the standard Royal range. The darker dial colour also emphasises the contrast between the polished markers and the surrounding surfaces, while keeping the overall presentation notably sober. The hands are filled with Grade A Swiss Super-LumiNova, as outlined in the broader Royal launch materials. Inside is the Tudor Manufacture Calibre MT5633, a self-winding mechanical movement with bidirectional rotor system. In line with the updated Royal collection, this calibre brings the range into Tudor’s Manufacture movement architecture, with a silicon hairspring, a variable inertia balance held under a traversing bridge, and a running tolerance of -2/+4 seconds as stated by the brand. Power reserve is approximately 70 hours, placing this reference among the weekend-proof models in the new Royal line. The bracelet is a five-link integrated steel design with satin-brushed external and central links, polished intermediate links, and a folding clasp with safety catch. For the 2026 update, Tudor also revised the end-link and lug relationship so the links no longer contact the case directly, a detail intended to reduce abrasion over time.
